CVS, St Pete Times, and Me

I was interviewed a while ago on the CVS issue when it was still current news.  The article never materialized after CVS was denied.  However, the reporter took some of the information I provided and went off in a new direction regarding the link between commercial redevelopment, sidewalks, and reduced crime.  I even got my picture in the paper. (my 15 seconds of fame.)

"While police are busting up drug houses and pulling over drunken drivers, some say City Hall needs to build more sidewalks, erect more light posts and recruit more coffee shops and restaurants to their neighborhoods.

In short, more infrastructure and amenities — both of which are hard to come by during a recession. Still, such improvements have been shown to help decrease crime nationwide."
